UPDATE: This post was made as Shinn Shots Photography and does not represent the style or goals of Blue Space Photography. Because I believe in knowing where you’ve come from, I’ve left this here as a reminder of the journey that led me to where I am today. I now only shoot storytelling sessions, so be sure to check out my current work in more recent posts! – Lauren
After months of work and thousands of decisions, the new Shinn Shots Photography is finally here!
I can hardly believe it.
A year ago I created a website for a photography business that I never thought would amount to anything. I lacked confidence. Why would anyone pick me over someone else? But I have been wonderfully overwhelmed by the number of people who did pick me. It has given me confidence and encouragement. Not to mention the chance to get to know so many wonderful people!
And so, here I am. A new logo. A new look. Pretty much a new everything. And I am thrilled. I can’t believe that I have been lucky enough to find a job that makes me so immensely happy.
This new look took quite a bit of work. Everything was researched and thought out…debated and decided. I was very purposeful in the decisions I made, which I hope is reflected in things such as my being green. I did have some help in getting here. The stick figures and background were done by Terry at Sassy Designs. She is absolutely fabulous! The website was created by Creative Motion Design, a wonderful web team geared just toward photographers. And this blog would not have been possible without Pro Photo Blogs. Also aimed at photographers, Pro Photo Blogs provides software that helps you to easily customize your blog. They are worth every. single. penny.
Everything else you see here is me. The logo design, the web design, the blog design. And you see those dotted circles? I created those….dot. by. stinkin’. dot. (Ok, I created one dotted circle that can be made into different sizes and colors, but that one little circle took me awhile to get it exactly right.)
I have poured my heart and soul into this business. I love it. I love what I do.
I’ll admit that there’s still a small part of me that thinks I may have done all of this for nothing. What if no one chooses me? But, you know what? The journey was worth it. It has been an exercise in creativity, learning, discipline, and self-discovery.
That being said, I hope you do pick me. I like spending my time getting a business off the ground, but I’d much rather be behind the camera taking your portraits!
To all the clients who helped me during my first year: Thank you! I really wouldn’t have any of this if it wasn’t for you. And I know that the new pricing is drastically different from the old. Please don’t panic! If you have any concerns, let me know and I’ll be happy to talk with you about it. We’ll figure something out together. Let’s just say I owe you one!
<Big sigh of relief!> So here it is! Take a look around and let me know what you think. I hope you all enjoy the new Shinn Shots Photography, because I enjoyed getting it here.
With my new business launched and my hopes high, I look forward to many years of fabulous clients and beautiful portraits.
