I knew when I relaunched my photography business last year that it was the right thing to do… just as I know now that stepping away is the right thing to do.
Photography has a way of capturing your heart and I have loved every bit of being a photographer for the past ten years. However, to be very honest, it is quite difficult to create a sustainable business as a photographer. I had hoped that pursuing documentary photography (and my heart) would help me stand out within the ever-crowded photography market and would enable me to find a sustainable niche, but it seems as though it wasn’t meant to be. Am I sad that my hopes were not realized? Yes. However, I’ve learned so much over the year and have zero regrets about the path I’ve taken.
Although I won’t be active online anymore, I’m still available for photography sessions and plan on keeping photography as a part of my life. You can always call if you’d like to book a session!
So… what now?
Well, as any good entrepreneur knows: if your first idea doesn’t work, you try something else.
I’m excited to announce that I’ll be pursing professional organizing! In the same way that photography is a creative passion for me, organizing is a practical passion. While it may seem completely different from photography, the purpose and my “why” are exactly the same. It’s just another way for me to encourage and help moms! My goal is to help moms, especially moms in homes that struggle with ADHD, functionally organize their space so that they can live a life they love.
I am excited to walk along this new path and see where it takes me. I hope to have a website and my social media channels up soon, but I’ve already started helping clients get organized!
Thank you to everyone who has offered support and encouragement throughout my years as a photographer. It meant the world to me and I couldn’t have made it here without you. I hope you’ll join me in as I embark on this new journey.
Much love and grace,
